My son saw Dr. Barbe for several years and we were satisfied with their services. However, it became extremely difficult to obtain appointments, going well beyond his 6 month check ups. After seeing another doctor at a different practice, it was discovered that my son would benefit from bifocals. This was an oversight the doctor made that directly affected my son's reading fluency all school year! I will not recommend Progressive Eye ever again.
DO NOT GO HERE. Literally the worst place to go to have your vision checked. I had my eye exam last year and am still waiting to hear back from them to get my prescription. They've messed up two times already trying to get my prescription and it's been about 4 months that I haven't been able to buy new contacts or glasses because of them. They just took my money and I got nothing in return. Save your money and go elsewhere. I would give 1/2 a star if possible.
I called this place in June to make a pediatric appointment they only had an appointment open for October. I took the appointment and waited .... showed up for my son's appointment today only for them to say they sent me a letter in the mail saying they had rescheduled his appointment for JANUARY!? When I asked why they did not make a phone call they told me it's not their policy to call they only send letters. Rescheduling happens but not informing your patient in a proper manner is not ok. This is 2016 we all have telephones.
They told me I had a deaseas in my eye I ask what can I do so i won't lose my eye site the doctor that saw me he said nothing i got a second opinion thank God I went to another eye care got test done meds for my deaseas one Year later I didn't lose my eye site God is good will never ever go there
Worst experience EVER! I took my son to see Dr. Barbe for a follow up on his eye condition. His Dr for the last 5 years retired and Dr. Barbe took over her patients. I walked in at 10:28 for his 10:45 appt. We waited a normal amount of time and were taken back with a nurse for the first portion of the exam. She asked him to read a few lines and took pics with a machine. Then took us to another waiting room. Again I feel I waited a fair amount of time. I did notice just before the Dr. Came to get us it was 11:57 on my phone. We walked to the room. As we walked she said I am Dr. Barbe. She was not looking at me or my son. We went into the room where a nurse was at a computer with her back turned. She also never looked at us or said hello. Dr. Barbe left the door to the exam room open. Um privacy issues? My son sat in the chair she looked at his eye condition for approx. 30 seconds. Told me it was fine for now, asked 2 questions about his history, told the nurse to type 2 things. She still hasn't introduced herself to my son who by the way is 6. She immediately threw tape over his right eye had him read 2 letters. Letters not lines. Ripped the tape off put it over his other eye asked him to read 1 letter ripped off the tape and said he can see I'll see you back in 6 months. She handed the chart to my son and pushed us out the door. I checked out and walked out of the building at 12:01. 11:57-12:01 is 4 minutes. Check out was at least 1 minute if not more. This was our first time seeing her. Never did she ask why we were there or if I had questions or concerns. This is completely unacceptable. I will never return to this office again. And would never recommend it!
